Over the past two decades, China's manufacturing segment has utilized a large amount of domestic and foreign investment to continually increase the country's capacity to meet the ever growing demand of industrial consumers worldwide. Furthermore with most automobile manufactures moving more of their manufacturing to China, rubber products such as belting, ducts, and hoses are experiencing immense growth in tandem with China's appetite for rubber.
In 2006 the World's natural and synthetic rubber consumption was around 21.50 million tones growing 2.3 percent from the 2005 level. During the same time period China became the largest consumer of rubber devouring over 5.5 million tones or 25.6 percent of the World's total, growing 10 percent from the previous year level. In addition China produced 2.44 million tons of rubber products becoming the third largest rubber manufacturing country in the world.
