The Chinese New Year is February 12th, 2021, with most factories closing for a minimum of 2 weeks. It is expected that shipping lines will be busy/tight from the end of January through to the middle of February.
Carriers have also continued to cut capacity to reduce operational costs and maintain freight rates since the outbreak of the pandemic. This has resulted in a shortage of shipping space which makes getting containers on vessels moving to North America more difficult. We expect this to continue through to the Chinese New Year holiday.
It is recommended that you review your inventory levels and place your orders as soon as possible to ensure they ship before the Chinese New Year holiday.
