On average, our production times for all product lines decreased by 2 days, resulting in an average of 56 days. The National Silicone solid line experienced a decrease of 5 days, while GCP Molded Parts had an increase of 5 days. The National Silicone Sponge and Rubatex Sponge lines both saw a decrease of 10 days. All other product lines remained the same.
Following a slow start to the year, Chinese factory production is on the rebound. Although the month-over-month growth partly reflects the weak starting point of the economy this year, China has been investing significantly in factory processes and digitization to improve efficiency and reduce production time. The Chinese government has also been taking measures to address labor shortages by promoting vocational training programs and encouraging companies to adopt more flexible working arrangements.
Overall, China’s manufacturing industry is likely to continue evolving and adapting to changing market conditions, and its production times will likely continue to decrease as a result.
April Production Times
Our April 2023 production times measure the change in days an average order will take to produce from the time it is submitted (all facilities). This includes the time it takes to book a container. However, it excludes ocean shipping and other transit times.
