We want to inform you of the upcoming changes to U.S. tariffs that may impact your orders with us. As announced by the White House, on April 2nd effective 12:01 a.m. EDT on April 9, 2025, the United States will apply new country-specific tariff rates on imports from certain countries.
To help clarify how this may affect your orders, please refer to the following:
Orders in Transit Before April 9, 2025
If your goods are loaded onto a vessel and in transit before 12:01 a.m. EDT on April 9, they will not be subject to the new tariff rates, but they must arrive at a U.S. port before May 27th. The goods need to be on their last mode of transport by May 27th for the exemption to apply. For example, on the water for vessels arriving at U.S. ports, or on the rail or truck from Canada to the U.S. if arriving at a Canadian port first.Orders Completed but Not Yet Shipped by April 9, 2025
If goods are completed but not yet in transit before the cutoff, they will be subject to the new tariffs upon entry into the U.S.Orders Still in Production on April 9, 2025
Any goods not yet completed or shipped by April 9 will also be subject to the new tariff rates once imported.
Please note this remains a fluid situation and the information above might be subject to change. While April 9 remains the official implementation date, the final tariff rates or timeline may still shift in the coming days. We are monitoring the situation closely and will keep you updated with any developments.
If you have not heard from us directly yet, we will be reaching out in the next few days to go over your specific situation and let you know which orders might or might not be impacted by the new tariff rates.
We remain committed to keeping you informed and minimizing any disruption. If you have questions about your specific orders or would like to discuss alternatives, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
