As the global supply chain landscape continues to evolve amidst ongoing tariff challenges, we want to ensure we’re doing everything we can to help you maintain a steady flow of goods.
We understand the complexities these changes have introduced, and are committed to offering solutions that keep your operations running smoothly. To that end, we’ve outlined several strategies that will help mitigate tariff impacts assuming there are no meaningful changes to the amount levied against China. Below are some options we are able to explore further to address your specific requirements:
Continue to Defer Shipments Awaiting Tariff Reductions
For goods that have already been produced in China, we are able to keep them there ready to ship as soon as tariff rates are reduced.
Alternative Shipping Destinations: Canada or Mexico
Opportunity to ship your orders to secure warehouses in Canada or Mexico for an additional shared cost.
Sheet Rubber Orders from Non-China Production
For our Premlene sheet rubber product line, we have established alternative production partnerships outside of China.
Ongoing Production in China with Discounted Tariff Rates
For goods that have already been produced in China or if you are needing materials produced in China, we have worked with our production partners to secure product discounts to help offset the impact of tariffs.
While we’ve outlined several strategies to help you navigate the current landscape, it’s also worth noting a promising development on the horizon. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and chief trade negotiator Jamieson Greer are scheduled to meet China’s economic counterpart, He Lifeng, in Geneva this Saturday for high-level trade talks. This marks the first significant engagement between the two nations since escalating tariffs have disrupted global supply chains and markets. The discussions aim to explore tariff reductions, address export controls, and reconsider the removal of de minimis exemptions on low-value imports. Both nations acknowledge the unsustainable nature of the current trade impasse and appear ready to discuss de-escalation steps.
Thank you for your continued trust in us. Should you have any questions or wish to discuss the options in further detail, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.
Sincerely,
The GCP Team
