Our average expected production times across all product lines fell from 65 days last month to 63 days to start the year. GCP clamps product line was the main contributor to this decrease by dropping a staggering 30 days from December. Whereas our National Silicone sponge line saw an increase of 5 days, Premlene sheet rubber line was up 10 days, while all other product lines remain unchanged.
As COVID infections continue to sweep across China, it’s causing widespread business disruption as staffing shortages due to the illness are proving problematic for factory production lines. Companies have been left with no direction on how to handle the sudden surge in cases, after previously operating under strict guidelines handed down by local governments. Factory bosses are now either loosening all controls or isolating workforces to keep production lines functioning. Experts think factories will be faced with worker volatility issues until after the lunar new year which runs from January 22 to February 5th, 2023.
January Production Times
Our January 2023 production times measure the change in days an average order will take to produce from the time it is submitted (all facilities). This includes the time it takes to book a container. However, it excludes ocean shipping and other transit times.
