Our June 2021 production times index measures the change in days an average order will take to produce from time it is submitted (all facilities). This includes the time it takes to book a container. However, it excludes ocean shipping and other transit times. Meaning, the lower the number the quicker we expect to produce an order and have it ready to ship.
The average expected production time for all GCP products in June is 66 days. Down 5 days from May.
For the first time in 9 months we’ve seen a decrease in average production lead times for our branded and sourced products. Specifically, Premlene sheet rubber, Premlene engineered structures, National Silicone solid and National Silicone sponge have all decreased.
While this is a positive sign, our lead times are still significantly elevated versus a year ago as our partners continue to struggle with high demand, raw material shortages, and the ever mounting ocean freight delays.
We have initiated blanket orders with several customers and have found them to be extremely valuable in smoothing out current marketplace volatility.
