The reason our expected production times have decreased for March is a quicker ramp up to full production after the Chinese New Year shutdowns at the beginning of February. Both sheet rubber and silicone sponge production decreased 10 days while GCP sourced clamps/fittings and UHMW-PE Sheet decreased 25 and 15 days respectively. This is good news as it means we are likely past all the increased delays and capacity restrictions brought on by the run up to the Beijing Olympics and Chinese New Year celebrations.
Going forward, China still has it’s Covid Zero strategy in place, meaning future outbreaks could impact production times. Recently, ripples were sent through the global supply chain as an outbreak in the northern port city of Tianjin led to temporary production halts at factories for people to undergo mass testing. China has given no sign they will back away from its strategy in the hope that each breakout will be quickly contained with few economic and social ramifications.
Molded Parts
With respect to our molded parts, this is the seventh month in a row in which we did not publish a production number. We continue to experience a wide variation of times depending on the style needed. If you are looking to submit an order for our molded parts please contact us to find out the appropriate lead times.
March Production Times
Our March 2022 production times measure the change in days an average order will take to produce from the time it is submitted (all facilities). This includes the time it takes to book a container. However, it excludes ocean shipping and other transit times.
