Our average expected production times across all product lines showed a decrease of 3 days, bringing the average down to 58 days. National Silicone solid fell 5 days, whereas our Rubatex Sponge line and GCP sourced molded parts dropped by 10 days. All other product lines remain unchanged.
Chinese factory production is starting to bounce back after a sluggish start to the year. In February, China’s manufacturing activity expanded at the fastest pace in more than a decade as businesses accelerated their production efforts. The world’s second-largest economy recorded one of its worst years in nearly half a century in 2022 due to strict COVID lockdowns and subsequent widespread infections. The month-over-month growth partly reflects the economy’s weak starting point coming into this year but is none-the-less a a positive sign for China’s economy and the global economy as a whole.
March Production Times
Our March 2023 production times measure the change in days an average order will take to produce from the time it is submitted (all facilities). This includes the time it takes to book a container. However, it excludes ocean shipping and other transit times.
