This month has seen a sizable reduction in our overall production times, with the average expected time now standing at 56.5 days, down from the previous two months’ average of 59.5 days. Specifically, our Premlene Engineered Structures experienced a decrease in production time by 5 days, and our National Silicone Sponge saw a significant reduction of 20 days. Production times for all other product lines have remained the same.
Following the conclusion of the Chinese New Year holiday, manufacturing operations across China have begun to accelerate once again. In particular, our silicone sponge facility has swiftly returned to regular lead times since resuming business activities after the CNY holiday. This is most likely due to having a smaller order backlog and their ability to get workers back faster than other factories. The decrease in production time can also be attributed to the ramp-up in activities, as China’s export sector posted their biggest gain in more than a year. March Production Times
Our March 2023 production times measure the change in days an average order will take to produce from the time it is submitted (all facilities). This includes the time it takes to book a container, which currently stands at an average of 10.5 days. However, it excludes ocean shipping and other transit times.
Approximate transit times (including estimated time the ship will wait at the port before it is unloaded) are:
East Coast: 35-45 days
West Coast: 20-30 days
