October 2021 Production Times

The average expected production time for all GCP products in October is around 69.5 days. Rising two days from September.

Our October 2021 production times measure the change in days an average order will take to produce from time it is submitted (all facilities). This includes the time it takes to book a container. However, it excludes ocean shipping and other transit times.

Production times for our materials increased two days from September to October, with a few changes to note. Both solid silicone and silicone foam production increased an average of five days, while UHMW-PE sheet production also increased by the same amount.

With respect to our molded parts, this is the second month in a row which we did not publish a production number. We continue experience a wide variation of times depending on the style needed. Power Crunch

In regards to the power crunch situation, we have reached out to all our factory partners (who are on holiday this week) to understand how this situation is affecting them. Once they return to work we will gather all the relevant information and provide more details.

It is being reported that more than half of China’s provinces failed to meet the central government’s energy-consumption targets for the first half of 2021. This means many regions in China now have strict power usage guidelines for businesses and factories which either bans or limits their use. Given these are annual targets we are expecting this issue will remain in place for the remainder of the year as China’s government aim to hit emissions targets.
